<salute>Dear Beate,</salute></opener>

<p>I didn’t write back to you immediately
because I didn’t have any more paper.
That rarely happens, I hope
that you’ll excuse me. I
received your letter which
made me very happy,
as for once it was
rather long. Me, I spend
my days as best I can.
Mornings I get up and
take a little walk in the
garden. I then have lunch,
as you would expect.
After that I do shopping and run errands.
Afternoons I go
swimming, and there you have it, my
day has passed.

What is your little sister doing?
My brother has gone on
vacation, and my
little sister is doing very well.
<del>if you have some</del>
I’ll finish this now by hugging you
very tightly. </p>
