Wir erhielten mit grober Freude Deinen Brief vom 11. Juni. Auch wir sind Gott sei Dank gesund. Lieber Moritz ist seit Anfang Juli in dem Auswanderungslager Les Milles bei Marseille. Wenn unsere Papiere von der Regierung in Washington bestätigt sind und wir darüber Nachricht haben wird unsere Sache vom Consulat Marseille weiter bearbeitet. Je rascher diese neue Bestimmung von Washington aus erfüllt ist je eher können wir das heibt die lieben Kinder und ich nach Marseille. Moritz hat ja sofort an Perlman telegrafiert aber der hat immer Zeit. Und uns eilt es so sehr. Liebe Flora hat sich schon soviel Mühe um uns gegeben, dab ichs ihr nie genug danken kann. Von Röschen haben wir weiter nichts mehr gehört aber sie schickte uns von Portugal ein Paketchen mit einer Wurst die ganz herrlich war. Flora hat auch Geld nach Portugal geschickt aber bis jetzt kam nur eins an, das uns gute Dienste geliestet hat. Hoffentlich kommen auch bald die anderen an. Ich denke oft an unsere liebe Mutter in Erez denn hier soll das Kilma ähnlich wie dort sein Tagsüber heib und Nachts kühl. Beate und Suse sind Gotte sei Dank gesund.
Beate geht zur Schule und Suse in den Kingergarten. Von Moritz hatte schon oft Post. Er hat viel Heimweh nach den Kindern, und ich wäre auch froh wenn wir wieder zusammen wären. Es trägt sich alles viel leichter. Wie gefällt es Dir liebe Berta im Hospital? Ist Marga jetzt bei Dir. Die Sprache kannst Du jetzt doch sicher schon perfekt. Ich nahm noch einige Stunden hier im Lager aber momentan habe ich mit den Kindern und den anderen Arbeiten genug. Die Hitze macht mich faul worüber ich mich oft ärgere. Versuche Du doch immer mal wieder zu liebe Flora zu kommen. Vielleicht passt es doch einmal. Die Post von liebe Flora ist knapp 3 Wochen unterwegs nur dürfte sie mehr schreiben, aber ich weib sie hat viel Arbeit und dazu die vielen Laufereien wegen unsere Papieren. War alles so schön fertig und nun kommt diese neue Bestimmung und wirft uns wieder zurück. Die Passage ist bei der Hicen bezahlt und ich denke dab diese auch für Schiffsplätze sorgt. Hast Du genügend Sachen hattest doch schon so viel an liebe Flora geschickt. Hier kommt man mit wenig aus. Dab wir bei Siegfried so Gott will Maute werden freut mich sehr beson ders wegen der lieben Mutter die dann hoffentlich Ablenkung und Freude hat. We were so delighted to get your letter of June 11. We, too, are in good health, thank God. My dear Moritz has been in the emigration camp Les Milles near Marseille since early July. Once our documents are confirmed by the government in Washington and we've received notification, the consulate in Marseille will take charge of further processing our application. The quicker this new regulation is fulfilled at the Washington end, the sooner we, meaning the children and I, can go to Marseille. Moritz telegrammed Perlman immediately, but Perlman always to have all time in the world. Yet, we're in such an urgent hurry. Dear Flora has already made such an effort on our behalf that I'll never be able to thank her enough. We still haven't heard anything more from Röschen, but she sent us a parcel from Portugal with a sausage that was a really splendid treat. Flora also sent money to Portugal, though up to now only one parcel arrived, that has served us well. Hopefully the others will also soon arrive. I think often of our dear mother in the Land of Israel, as the climate here is supposed to be similar to there: hot during the day and cool at night. Beate and Suse are healthy, thank God.
Beate is going to school and Suse is in kindergarten. I've already had post from Moritz often. He really misses the children, and I would be happy, too, if we would be together again. It makes it so much easier to bear everything. Dear Berta, how do you like working in the hospital? Is Marga with you now? You've most likely already mastered the language by now. I took part in a few more lessons here in the camp, but at present I have enough to do with the children and other work. The heat makes me lazy, which often makes me angry with myself. You should try to regularly visit Flora now and then. Perhaps you can fit it in at some point. Post from dear Flora takes just under 3 weeks to get here, but I wish she'd write more. Yet, I know that she works a lot, and has all the running back and forth for our documents on top of that. Everything was so nicely settled, and now this new regulation comes and sets us back. Our ocean passage has been paid at Hicem and I believe that they also organize bookings onboard a ship. Do you have enough clothes and furnishings? You sent so much to dear Flora. Here, we get by on little. I'm so delighted that, God willing, we can benefit from Siegfried's generosity, and am particularly happy for our dear mother who will then hope fully feel some diversion and joy.
