<salute>My Darling &#8212;</salute></opener>

<p>I’ll warn you in advance this
will be a very boring letter as there really
hasn’t been anything of interest to write
about.</p>

<p>I didn’t receive any mail from
you again today so this makes four
days without mail. If I don’t get
some tomorrow, I’m really going to be
down in the dumps. All our mail
has been very light for more than a
week now so it should break loose soon.</p>

<p>I didn’t get my package to you
completely wrapped last night so I
must finish that tonite and get it on
its way. I am still looking for some
heavy wrapping paper but havn’t located
any as yet.</p>

<p>Cap’t O’Brein told me last night
that he would like me to work with
Bob now including alternating with
him going to Bn Hq each day for our
mail and distribution. I told him I
would be happy to do so because for
one thing it will keep me away
from a lot of petty stuff they think of.
(I didn’t tell him the latter part of course.)
We were typing most of the afternoon
on recommendations for Bronze Star
Medal awards. We are getting pretty

<pb facs="soh.sto002.00131.002"/>

disgusted writing them as we have
completed many of them two and three
times only to have them returned by the
adjutant for more detail. I hope some
of them will be okayed and awarded.</p>

<p>Tonite they were looking for Insull,
Harris and I to go and play ball. We
were all hiding out in different sections
of the building. They looked for us
about 15 minutes and couldn’t locate
us so left. I locked myself in the
toilet and Insull and Harris hid up
on the 3rd floor.</p>

<p>We had a lettuce and tomato
salad tonite and gee was it ever delicious.
Our tomatoes come from the
Canary Islands. They are small and
not as tasty as ours in the states
but they are plenty good, with the
others impossible to obtain.</p>

<p>Well darling I’m all out of news
but will try and write something of
interest tomorrow. Also I’m hoping to
hear from you in the meantime.</p>

<closer><salute>With all my love and kisses<lb/>
Forever yours,</salute>
