<salute>Dear Mr. Van Ausdall:</salute>
</opener>

<p>We wish to acknowledge receipt of your letter
with reference to extra sugar to the North Platte beverage makers
for the purpose of getting 1000 cases of soft drinks for the Canteen
Celebration, August 14, 1946.</p>

<p>We have written to the Omaha District Office
requesting that this additional allotment of sugar be granted to the
various bottlers. We feel that the North Platte Canteen was the outstanding
activity granted all service personnel during the war.
There was no O.P.A. regulation which permitted us to grant allotments
of sugar, meat, and processed foods to a Canteen, but we were able to
get the allotments and received a verbal approval from our Regional
Office.</p>

<p>We have hopes that favorable action will be taken
on this request, and we will advise you of the action taken just as
soon as we hear from the Omaha District Office.</p>

<salute>Yours very truly,</salute>
