1938-1940 Karlsruhe The Stern family moved here from Lauterbach because their home and business were confiscated. They lived with relatives and then in a small aparmtment until they were rounded up and sent to the Gurs Internment Camp in France. 1941-1941 Rivesaltes As seen in the attached letter, the Stern family pleaded with relatives in the US to try to help the family out of Gemany before the war. Rosa Stern continued to seek refuge for her daughters after their deportation to the French Internment camps. 1941-1942 Chateau de Chaumont Bea testifies that she was moved at least 14 times during her rescue with the OSE and in the convents.While at the Chateau Cheaumont, she was reunited with her sister, Susie.
