Je vous ai écrit la semaine dernière une carte et j’attendais toujours un signe de vie de vous. Vous pouvez m’ècrire maintenant directement, vous n’avez plus besoin d’attendre l’assistante pour expediter la letter. J’ai reçu aujourd’hui pour vous un télégramme de Londres (Angleterre) de votre oncle Siegfried Stern et tante Bertha. Ils demandent de vos nouvelles, mais ils n’ont pas mis leur adresse. Est-ce que vous avez l’adresse? Regar- dez bien dans vos anciennes lettres, s’il n’y a pas l’expediteur dessus. Moi, j’ai seulement l’adresse de votre tante Rosa** en Amérique, que votre maman m’avait écrit avant de partir. Je lui ai déjà écrit deux fois, mais je n’ai pas encore de réponse, vous savez le courier ne march pas encore
bien vite avec l’Amérique. Je vous mets une envelope avec mon adresse et timbre, répendez moi tour de suite, et si vous avez l’adresse de l’oncle Siegmund*** Stern donnez la moi, car il attend une réponse sur son télégramme.
J’espère que vous avez bien grossi et que vous vous portez bien. J’attends déjà le jour où je peux vous embrasser ici et je crois ça sera bientôt. Vous voyez bien, que vous n’êtes pas tout seules, vos oncles et tantes s’inquietent bien de vous et quand nous aurons retrouvé toutes les addresses, vous aurez beaucoup de lettres et vous irez peut-être chez quelqu’un de votre famille. Mais pour cela il faut que vous soyez bien sage, que vous fassiez bien votre cure pour être en parfait san-té.

Do you have their home address? Take a good look through your old letters to see if the sender is written at the top. The only address that I have is that of your Aunt Rosa2 in America that your mama wrote to me before her departure. I’ve already written to her twice, but have yet to receive a response. You know that the postal system is not yet
functioning so quickly with America. I’m enclosing an envelope for you with my address and a stamp. Write back to me right away, and if you have the address of your Uncle Siegmund3 Stern, write it down in your letter to me, as he is waiting for a reply to his telegram.
I hope that you both are putting on weight and doing well. I can’t wait for the day when I can give you a welcoming embrace here, and I think that will be soon. It’s plain to see that you are not completely alone: your uncles and aunts are deeply concerned for you, and once we have found the addresses of all of them, you will have lots of letters, and you can perhaps go join someone in your family. However, to do that you will have to be very well behaved, and resolutely follow your health regimen to recover well and be in perfect health.
