Cher ami,

Dear Friend,

We are sending you a rather unusual search inquiry for a little girl of whom we know nothing about except her surname.

Geneva has signaled to us that the Stern family was known among the circles of the diamond dealers of Antwerp, and as many among them would have lived in Nice, you may be able to pick up some trace of the child.

We are taking this opportunity to attach some forms for requests for repatriation, and we are still waiting for those that we have sent back to you to have the visa entered from the police administrative office.

With cordial greetings, yours faithfully.

Notes

This letter exemplifies the complex loss of communication between families, although Bea and Suzi Stern were with the O. S. E., this reference of Stern is likely another family. [back]
