Displaced Persons Commission Washington 25, D.C.

Attention Funk Kasserne

Block 4 Munic, Bavaria Germany

Dear Sir:

I am an uncle of Elisha Modenstein. Some time ago, I executed assurances for him and his family to come to the Unlted States under the Displaced Persons Act. The assurances were accepted, and I was so notified by the Displaced Persons Commission in Washington. My nephow Elisha Modenstein, informed me that a short time ago, there was posted on the bulletin board in a place where my nephew resides, that Alex Bernstein was elligible for immigration to the United States and that his number was 3939, and that my nephew received no notification for himself.

It is his opinion, and also mine, that my name was placed on the bulletin board instead of my nephew, Elisha Modenstein. Will you please look into the matter ar your earliest convenience, and if I am correct in my assumption, both of us wlll appreciate it very much if you will make the correction and notify my nephew Elisha Modenstein that he is eligible for immigration into the United States.

Honorable Kenneth Wherry, United States Senator from Nebraska, has written Mr. Hugo Carusi, who is the chairman of the Displacod Persons Commission in Washington, and he has advised me that he has written the European headquarters and given them this information. I am writing direct to you with the request that if error was made that you do what you can to correct it as soon as possible. I am very anxious to have my nephew and his family to come to this country as soons as possible. Thank you very much for your kind consideration and assistance in this matter.

Sincerely yours,
