My client, Mr. A. Bernstein, 1121 P Street, this city, has handed me some correspondence that he has had with your office concerning a nephew, niece and their child now in one of the Displaced Persons camps in the American zone at Munich, Germany. Mr. Bernstein has informed me that he has given your office all necessary and requested information concerning this family but not having received any reply to his last letter addressed to your office sometime in the fore-part of November, 1947, he is wondering whether or not you have been able to obtain any further information for him or render any further assistance in his efforts to remove this family from their present terrible predicament.

In any event Mr. Bernstein is willing to give bond to the government that this individual and his family will at no time become a charge to this country and that he will support them if necessary.
It goes without saying that this matter, while it is no different from hundreds of other similar matters in your office, it nevertheless is a matter of life and death to this family and anything that you can do to assist them will
