Alex Bernstein, residing at 1612 E Street, Lincoln, Nebraska, first having been duly sworn upon his oath, deposes and says:

That I hereby give assurance, that Elisza Modenstein, my nephew of Camp Fohranwald--Wolfratshausen, Bavaria, Germany, U. S. Zone, accompanied by his family consisting of his wife, whose name is Chana Modenstein, and his daughter, two years old, whose first name, I do not know, if admitted into the United States, will be suitably employed by me at the prevailing rate of wages, without displacing some other person from employment, that he and the members of his family who accompany him, and who propose to live with him, shall not become public charges, that he and his family shall have safe and sanitary housing without displacing some other persons from such housing, that he will be properly received at the port of entry, that the transportation and expenses enroute from the port of entry, to their place of destination in the United States, will be provided, and that he will be properly received in the community of Lincoln, Nebraska.

As assurance of his employment I state as follows: That he will be employed by me at the prevailing rate of wages as a tailor in my place of business in the city of Lincoln, Nebraska.

This is to advise you that the notarized assurances filed with this office concerning the above-mentioned subject have been validated and dispatched to our representatives in Europe for further action.

As soon as any report on the progress of this case is received from Europe, you wlll be advised.

As proof of my assurances of housing for the above persons, I State: That I will have safe and sanitary housing in my house at 1612 E Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. I live all by myself, having more than ample room for the above applicant and his family.

This petition is made by me in order that the above persons may be admitted to the United States, under the Displaced Parsons, Act of 1948.
