Party Line

Now that we have sufficiently recovered from the shock of receiving our semester grades, and have somehow figured out a way to write the necessary pervarications home to our parents, we can once again settle down and let all (?) you people in on the latest UN news.

Diamonds, pins and steady deals seem to dominate the news of this week. For instance, the DU Drummond boys have finally decided to settle down for a chance. Last Saturday Tom hung his pin on Alpha Phi Maurene Reese; while brother John and Alpha Phi pledges Lorraine Rabe have decided to call it steady. All of which reminds us that we are finally permitted to announce that Dean Forke and Susie Kirkland, DG, are going steady after approximately five months of dating.

Pins and Diamonds

Over Tri Delt way Betty Dix has accepted Phi Delt Howard Chapin's diamond, and Corrine Woodruff is now wearing the Sig Ep heart of Harold Largen. Another Tri Delt Mardel Silvernail has just received a diamond from army man, Lt. John Seiverson of Georgia

The ATOs enjoy cigars last Saturday night when Meredith Mitchell announced that he had hung his pin on G. I. sweetie, Evelyn Jamieson. While at the Alphia Chi house, it has just been revealed that Ruth Sloss received a diamond from Lowell Johnson. Last Monday evening, Billie Anderson passed the sweets to her Theta sisters, and the same evening Marge Heyn accepted the ATO cross of Don James. And by the way, Beta Paul Dinnis is not wearing his pin anymore. Perhaps a certain Beatrice lass can explain.

It took a fractured foot to bring Anna Atkinson, Chi O, and Bill Hollbruck, Phi Gam, back together again. Good luck kids!!!

To whom it may concern... Madeline Haeker, DG, would like very much to add some concentrated sulphuric acid to those "two unknown chemicals." for certain people's information, Maddie gave the pin back against Ernie's wishes. (There now, everybody feels better about the whole deal.)

Wanted...

A date for Delta Sig glamour man, Johnny Kuhlman... line forms to the right, girls!

Phi Gams Bud Johnson and Howard Mengshol are doing their bit for the war effort this weekend by escorting "war widows Kay Detweiler, DG, and Aileen Housman, Theta, to a party at King's Friday evening.

Orchids to the Tri Delts for contributing all their formal party finances to the Red Cross. Because of the diphtheria quarantine a couple of weeks ago, the girls were unable to have their annual party.

The Kappa pledges seem to be doing all right, from the latest reports. Seems that Marsha Craft has been stepping out a lot lately with Phi Delt Bruce Allen while pledge sister Ruth Korb, has been seen often with Bill Weingarten.

Embarrassed.

Just heard a little something about Chi O Midge Sinclair and Phi Gam Roy Long. It all started last week end when these two were witnesses at George Thompson's wedding. Somehow, in the maze of things, local gossips had Roy and Midge not only engaged, but also married. The results proved embarrassing, to say the least, since they are at present not even going steady.

For some time now Theta Marion Lynch, had been engaged to Phil Delt Don Guinn of the U.S. coast guard. She is expecting a ring any day, and has a fur coat as security.

And now that spring is just around the corner, this little poem is dedicated to all those amorous males whose fancies are finally turning to what they've been thinking about all winter,
He put his arms around her,
The color left her cheek,
But it showed upon his new spring coat,
for just about a week.
