Dear mom, pop, & all:

Well chow is here again for the time being so will wait a little while. The wind is blowing a little today so is pretty cool for a change. And it also keeps the flies from biting so hard. Ha Ha. Well how is everything coming at home and with you folks by now! Fine and dandy I hope. We went down and took showers this morning. Boy they really feel swell. Say mom I know I am a heck of a lot of trouble but would you send Marian's address just once more. I can't seem to hang onto it for some reason or another. I must have lost it in one of it in one of my numerous dresser drawers. Ha Ha. It really isn't so bad after you get used to it I guess. Everytime I want something though it is always clear to the bottom of my barracks bag. Well I am still feeling fine and hope this letter finds you the same. All I can do is hope anymore or I never get a bit of mail. Well here I am out of paper again so suppose I have to quit. Keep writing and keep smiling[?]

Love & kisses Melvin.
