I was in the 45th Division Battery "C" 189th F.A.
We had 155 Howitizert Howitizers. We was in the initial landing in Sicily-Anzio Italy & Southern France. As you know the noise from those howitizers is very loud and we never used anything for helping to keep noise down in emergencies.
I had malaria & yellow jandice either just before leaving Sicily or first part of Anzio - which also affected my lungs.
