Letter From Sente Loewenstein to Bob and Bea Pappenheimer (Bea Karp), July 5, 1985

July 5, 1985 Very dear Beate & Bob,

I just received the copy of the OSE book, the photos of Chaumont[?] & your dear letter, I sincerely hope with you, that your Doctor there can find a remedy   for your blood trouble!!!! The book, naturally, was very emotional upsetting, I knew many of the people who were killed, but also those who escaped. Dr. Gaston Levy came to Jerusalem after the war as well as Mr. Cohn I saw them both as well as Mme Audree Solomon living in Beer Sheba. One thing is not correct: Chauteau de Chaumont was never liquidated because at the time of the American Debarquement[?] we got an epidemic of Scarlet Fever & were put on Quarantaine. So we were   sure that the Germans would not bother us! We stretched the epidemic until the end of the Battle of the Bulge – then we were safe!! – Hope to see you soon – we will have miles & miles & hours & hours to talk!! - With my best wishes & lots of love to Both of you
