  TO: MR. ALBERT SCHMIDT APT. 403 41 - 42 66TH STREET WOODSIDE, L.I. N.Y. FROM: CPL. E. S. KAHN 32962732 861 Q.M. F. &B. CO. A.P.O. 180 c/o POSTMASTER SAN FRANCISCO, CAL 9-27-45 Dear Bertha, Flora, and Albert,

Received several letters from you, dear Berth, for which I want to thank you very much. Please excuse my not writing but it was almost impossible under the circumstances. Was very glad to hear that you all are enjoying the best of health. Of Myself I can tell you that I am fine in spite of a dreadful trip which lasted for sixty days. Now, I am happy to tell you that I am about to go back to the states. If everything goes well I expect to be back by middle of November. — Hope you had good news from the girls and I wish that they will be in states by the time I come home. Untill then, I am with love

your cousin, Ernest
