Meine liebe Alle!
Es ist schon über ein Monat daß wir nichts von niemanden gehört haben. Ich hoffe und wünsche daß Ihr mit Gotteshilfe gesund und wohl seid, was ich Gott sei Dank auch von uns berichten kann. Wann Ihr diesen Brief bekommt weiß ich nicht, da es ist noch nicht alles wie es sein müßte. Wir haben leider Gottes schon so vieles mit-gemacht, doch scheint es noch kein Ende zu nehmen. Wie gehts den lieben Kindern? Jetzt wirds nun bald heiß, müssen leichte Sommerkleider sein. Von lieber Selma sehe und höre nichts. Nun hat jeder mit sich zu kämpfen, doch kann man die Mutter einmal besuchen. Ist Herr Katz einmal bei Euch gewesen? Der ist noch zur rechten Zeit fort. Die liebe Flora hat gewiß viel zu tun, ebenfalls die liebe Berta. Jetzt hat es sich wieder gejährt daß die nach hierher gebraucht. Die Zeit vorgeht so rasch. manchmal glaube ich es nicht daß so viele Jahre schon hin sind. Wie ist Eurer Garten? Habt Ihr schon Gemüse und Salat? Das gleiche hier kaufen wir alles, es ist sehr teuer.
Die liebe Hildegard führt, will sie versuchen ob der Brief fort geht. Lebt alle recht wohl und seid herzlick gegrüßt und geküsst von Eurer [?] lieben Mutter und Oma. Siegfried Kahn habe(n) einen kleinen Sohn.
Meine Lieben! Leider konnten wir nicht früher schreiben, weil es keine Postverbindung hab. Ich hoffe, dass dieser Brief Euch bei bester Gesundheit ereicht. Ich bin in Haifa und da will ich diesen Brief schnell abschicken. Gott sei Dank ist bei uns bis jetzt alles in Ordnung. Wie lange der liebe Siegfried noch zu Hause ist, weiß ich nicht. Wir haben Krieg, und wir können nur den lieben Gott bitten, dass es bald zu Ende ist. Naftali hat den Gruss allein geschrieben. Hier in Haifa ist bis jetzt Ruhe. Man sieht hier fast keine Araber. Das schlimmste ist der Luftkrieg.

I hope and wish that all of you, with God’s help, are healthy and doing well, which, thank God, I’m able to report from us. I don’t know when you will receive this letter, as everything is not yet what it needs to be. Unfortunately, we have already been through so much, yet there still doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. How are the dear children doing? The weather will soon turn hot here, it will have to be light summer clothing. I haven’t seen or heard anything from Selma. While everyone has their own struggles, you can still visit your mother now and then. Has Mr. Katz turned up there with you? He did managed to get out at the right time. Dear Flora must certainly have a lot to do, as must dear Berta. Another year has now gone by that she she needs to get here. Time flies by so quickly. Sometimes I can’t believe it that so many years have already passed. How is your garden? Do you already have vegetables and salad? We buy all that here, everything else is very expensive

Hello my darlings! Unfortunately we couldn’t write to you earlier because there was no postal service. I hope that this letter finds you in the best of health. I’m in Haifa and want to quickly go get this letter off to you. Thank the Lorder that so far everything here is okay. But I don’t know just how long our dear Siegfried will be able to remain home with us. There’s a war on, and all we can do is pray to God that it will soon be over. Naftali wrote the greeting below himself. Things are quiet so far here in Haifa. see hardly any Arabs here. The worst is the air war.
