Letter from Bertha Gottlieb to Beate and Susie Stern

My dear Beate & dear Suse

Thank you both very much for your little letter which we received last Friday. We were very surprised that you didn't mention what the possibilities are for coming here just that you were asking for the money which you need to pay the school bill. But as you know your father wanted you to go to New York and stay w Auntie Flora. Here school does not cost anything. I have been in England for more than 5 years and after being here 1 year I realize that children here fare better off as in England besides they have more liberty.

Much more can be done for you here. We shall make you a nice home here. You will find many people here who will like you and help you in every way.

My dear children believe me we want to do our Best and we should like so much to make you really happy.

I hope you received the two blouses which we sent you about 3 weeks ago and that you will like them. Have you heard from Oma and Uncle Siegfried and from Auntie Senta?
