Letter from Albert Schmidt to American Consulate, August 12, 1946

Dear Sir

On June 17, 1946, my wife, Mrs. Flora Schmidt, wrote a letter to you on behalf of our little nieces Beate and Suse Stern who at the present time stay with their uncle Mr. Siegfried Stern, 93, Bethesne Rd. London

Since we have not received a reply I should like you to draw your attention to this matter.

It is very important that these children who are orphans come to this country to get a real home at last. In London they can not stay at their uncle's home because of matrimonial differences.

My wife and I are willing to give them a proper home. Enclosed I send you a photostat of my discharge-paper. The affidavits for the children have been sent to the Refugee-Committee Bloomsbury House, Bloomsbury Street, London 4.E. in June 1945.1
