Letter from Flora Schmidt and Bertha Gottlieb to Beate and Susie Stern, September 28, 1947

  My dear Beate and my dear Susie,

I hope you enjoyed your birthday dear Susie. How are you both I hope fine. We are alright it is Eref Yontof and I like to write you quick few lines. The money for tickets by Aireplan is paid already and sent to England. When you will leave England we don’t now yet but we think a round the October 15. Ship reservation we could not get yet, but maybe the Bloomsbury House has something for you. From here it is very hard to do and I think dear Beate call up Miss Ney and ask her. You know through the Holiday’s the committee always are closed. See that your papers are in order ask Miss Ney when you can leave. If we hear something befor I will let you know. One thing I like to tell you children here in America have a much easier life, than in the whole world. You both will see when you are here [?] and we will try to make you both very happy. Dear Susie you don’t have to be afraid to come by plane thousends of people travel like that and you will be here very fast. I hope you will enjoy Succoth did you faste good Yom Kippur? Uncle Albert didn’t faste so well, but I was alright. I hope everything will be alright and you will be here soon. Please Beate call up Miss Ney and bother her untill you know when you are leaving.
