Letter from Beate Stern to Albert and Flora Schmidt and Bertha Gottlieb, October 2, 1947

  Dear Aunties and Oncle

How are you? I received your letter, and I thank-you very much. Suzy had a nice party for her birthday, and quite a lot of presents. I don't mind to go by airoplain, becuase I will find it much nice than a ship but, Suzy thinks different. Realy dear Aunties and Oncle you shouldn't have paid money for an airoplain it must cost an awful lot.

We received your parcel on [?] and we thank-you very much, there was realy no need to send any sugar we have got ever such a lot, and Auntie changes always for sweets, and with tea it is the same. Is the little french girl still living in your

house? I have got ever such nice friends here, they are all from France, and we have got ever such a lot of fun together. Yesterday I watched my boy friend playing foot-ball, and it was quite a sight, he is the smallest, but he is one of the best players, and he won two goals for his team, and then his two sisters invited me to have tea with them, so we had nice tea, and afterwards we went to the Park. I went today with Natalie to the pictures, and he enjoyed it quite well, but in the end it bored him a bit. I fasted very well on [?] thank-you. The weather is getting colder.

I have nothing no more to write,
I finish my letter with

All my love and kisses your's Beatrice
