Beate Stern (Bea Karp) at wedding of Vivette Samuel

Wedding photo of Vivette and Julien Samuel taken at Couret, France in October 1942. Vivette was a social worker active in the OSE, who volunteered to be an intern in Rivesaltes and was integral in saving children and helping parents agree to have OSE hide their children. In six months she was able to liberate almost 400 children. Julien Samuel also worked in the OSE. Beate Stern (Bea Karp) was chosen to be a flower girl in their wedding and is seen standing in the front row second from the left.
