Shapiro Speech to Educators (2)

I spoke to a great number of students and organizations this past year knowing that this story will seldom be repeted to others.

This time it is different:

I am standing here before an assembly of educators, which is a great honor & privilege for me and I know that todaythis time my story will be retold to the young generations of students for years to come.

The tittle of my speach " So That We Remember" orwhich by the way came from one of your members is very appropreateor never forget. Because at this time plans are being finalized for thejust recently plans were accepted by the Wasignton commision of fine Arts building of a Holocaust Memorial Museum in our nations capital.

Just like the memorials of Lincoln and Jefferson send a message of freedom and justice, so will the Holocaust Memorial Museum send a message never to forget. We must remember not only this happening , but that so many decent people in the world let it happen.

Nobody is entitled to forget Aushwitz. It is our duty not only to remember but also to remiind others what man are capable to do fellow man.

All of us were condemned for belonging to an ancient people whose forfathers stood at Mount Sinai and received the eternal commendment "Thau shall not kill"

This is my story :of a time in my life

Closing: We were condemned to die without a judge or jury and very seldom did we find a XXXXXX neighbor on whoes door we could knock and ask for shelter.

Let us remember our brothers and sisters who still fill the sky with their smoke.

By our deeds let us make sure that such a Holocaust, the darkest memory of the histiory of men shell never be allowed to happen again.

Thnk you
