Re: Documents Obtained from Holocaust Museum, Washington DC. Pertaining to Abraham Shapiro a/k/a Szapiro, Brother of Irving Shapiro of Gering, Nebraska
Dear Beth:

As I've been communicating with you about recently, enclosed are copies of the documents I received from the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, D. C. in response to my inquiry regarding the fate of my father Irving Shapiro's younger brother, Abraham Shapiro a/k/a Szapiro. Also enclosed (just FYI) are copies of correspondence I had with the Museum during the course of obtaining these documents.

As I believe you are aware, we learned in 1998 (2 years after my father Irving died) that my uncle Abraham was still alive when the British soldiers liberated Buchenwald in 1945; and, that he was then taken to a hospital in Blankenhain, Germany where he died a few weeks later and was subsequently buried in the town's cemetery along with a few others who had failed to sustain life after being liberated.

Please don't hesitate contacting me anytime.

Sincerely, Hershel J. Shapiro P.O. Box 1942 Denver, CO 80201 (720)280-3666 [cell] (303)382-4144 [office v-mail] hjslaw@hotmail.com
