Our best thanks for your inquiry per email dated 8th February 2010 in which you ask for information about your family members.
We would be pleased to assist you in your concern and to make a check of the records preserved here.
In order to be able to take up the processing, we ask you to indicate the full particulars of the persons inquired for including dates of birth and places of birth as far as known to you. Of course, any detail you can provide about the persecution suffered respectively the stay of your relatives during the early post-war period might be helpful.
For your better understanding, please allow us to explain that information about single persons is distributed in the entire documentary material and can only be made available through our Central Index of Names which contains approximately 50 million reference cards for ca 17.5 million persons. This index is arranged in alphabetical-phonetic order according to names, first names and dates of birth. In this respect, may we mention that the name Szapiro is a common one which appears most frequently in our database in various phonetic spellings. For this reason, we will need quite exact personal data to clearly identify the persons.
To make it easier for you, please find enclosed a questionnaire for making an inquiry. Please print it out, fill it in as completely as possible (one for each person) and return it to us by regular mail or by fax. Of course, it is also possible to scan the completed and signed questionnaire and to send it per email.
Please be advised that requests are usually concluded within eight weeks.
As soon as your inquiry with details required by us is on hand, we will resume the processing and shall inform you of the result upon conclusion.
We are looking forward to your reply and remain with kind regards, Martin Kriwet Registrations and Processing of Inquiries International Tracing Service (ITS) Große Alle 5-9 34454 Bad Arolsen Germany Phone: +49 (0)5691 629-0 Fax: +49 (0)5691 629-501 http://www.its-arolsen.org trace.requests@its-arolsen.org
