Suitcase

Suitcase; Leather, Alfred Speier. This suitcase belonged to Alfred Speier. Alfred, his wife Kate Bluth Speier, and their daughter Eva, escaped Nazi Germany in December of 1936. They settled in Lincoln, Nebraska, where Alfred's cousin was already residing. Alfred had owned a high-end "Speier's" fabric store in Halberstadt, Germany. Alfred used this suitcase when leaving Germany to come to the United States.
