Letter from Miriam Grossman to Marsha, March 1, 1969

  Dear Marsha:

I want to express my appreciation to this PTA Council for the many years of working together for the welfare of children. This participation helped me to develop myself and to fulfill my obligation as mother and citizen. I am enriched[?] by the association with all of you and the friendship's I found will always be treasured.

I can only regret that I can not accept your offer to stay on the Council under your condition – not to dissent verbally nor by letters on the issue which affects each of us. I treasure the freedom of religion in our Country, but in our Organization I can not accept any onesided experience of it, be it in songs, ideals or physical appearance.

I realize that in a Democracy the majoirty rules, but I also believe that a Democratic order is based on the "Principle of Rights" with open discussions and fairness to all.

I hope that you will make a good President.

Sincerely Miriam Grossman
