Roy Long Shifted To Spot Ahead of Disabled Bradley

Squad changes issued yesterday were the big news in the Cornhuskers camp as Glen Presnell's charges continued preparations for the Big Six title clash with Missouri Saturday.

Top change on the bulletin board roster featured Roy Long's insertion in the varsity backfield. With Dale Bradley on the injured list and doubtful of action Saturday, Long won the promotion over Howard Debus.

Long Sparks Drive.

It was tow-headed Long who sparked the fourth period Husker victory drive at Lawrence Saturday. One week ago today he was listed on the roster as third team signalbarker.

Remainder of the roster for the top two teams remained stable except in one position. Al Zikmund, who regained his running form despite a charley horse at Kansas, may supplant Marv Athey at the right halfback post prior to game time.

Main part of the practice session was devoted to play rehearsal and pass offense. Missouri plays were demonstrated by a makeshift eleven. Scrimmage will be light this week as Mentor Presnell does not want to risk the injury plague which has hampered the Missouri team.

Tiger Aces Hurt

While Nebraska mourned over the probable loss of Dale Bradley, Missouri had more to sweep over. Top three Tiger backfield performers were definitely on the doubtful list as preparations opened yesterday. Don "Bull" Reece, powerhouse fullback, is the major casualty. Reece's knee was reinjured against Great Lakes Saturday and now he's out for the duration of the season.

Reece's fullback replacement, Fred Bouldin, is another injured member. Bouldin came thru the Navy fray too badly bruised as to assure participation in even a week.

Top injured member of all, however, is Bob "nation's leading ground gainer" Steuber, the stellar left halfback. Steuber possesses an injured left shoulder, left foot, righth and, and right elbow. Missouri team doctor expressed doubt whether the American candidate would be available.
