Letter from Norm Smith to Howard and Violet Smith, November 18, 1943

  Dear Folks;

Just a few lines to tell you may permanent address for the next 17 weeks. My training here begins November 22nd,

although I have been assigned to Infantry Training it does not hinder my chances to get into cook school.

Well yesterday and today I was on a paint detail, we were painting the interior of the "Ordance Supply Room." I got my fatigues so dirty I doubt if I'll ever get them clean.

The cook here is a Chinaman and is quite a comical Charactor.

How much money did you send to me at Fort Lewis?

Has the letter been returned to you yet?
