Seit Deinem Brief 26., den wir heute vor acht Tagen bekamen, haben wir keine Nachricht von Dir. Ich hoffe Du hast alle unsere Briefe erhalten. Ich bat Dich uns für alle Fälle Deine kürzeste Telegrammanschrift mitzuteilen. Wie ich soeben erfahren habe, soll die Post an Dich jetzt über Italien gehen. Auf alle Fälle schreibe jetzt über Onkel Lothar. Uns geht es allen gut, Du brauchst Dich in keiner Weise zu ängstigen. Sobald Du diesen Brief bekommst, gib sofort Nachricht an Alfred per Luftpost. Am 31.8. habe ich nun Seifert das Haus übergeben, es geht nun alles in Ordnung und ich habe nun endlich mit Großr. Ruhe. Es freut uns sehr, daß Du geschäftlich zufrieden bist. Alfred bindet sich an keine Branche in Vertretungen, sondern nimmt alles, was sich für dort eignet, eventuell auch für eigene Rechnung. Grete und Liese muß ich jetzt unterstützen, da sie nichts mehr haben.
Diesen Brief habe ich auch über Onkel L. geschrieben, gib mir Bescheid, welchen Du zuerst bekommen hast.

erfreut dich am aller meisten. Neulich waren wir bei Clara G.,
dort hat sich nichts geändert, Alfred geht es leidlich,
natürlich leidet er unter seinen Stimmungen. Frau Lesser ist
abends viel bei uns u. wir unterhalten uns immer sehr nett.
Tante Else reiste vor 8 Tagen nach Laus und Tante Hanna
kam braungebrannt u. gut aussehend aus den Ferien
zurück. Wir haben immer noch sehr schöne warme Tage,
hoffentlich ist die Hitze bei Euch auch erträglicher
geworden. Im Geschäft hast du dich gewiss nun schon
gut eingearbeitet u. klappt alles gut.
Ich denke so viel an dich, mein l. Junge, vielleicht besucht
dich Herr F. aus Neustadt bald. Neulich glaubte ich du
hättest mich gerufen u. drehte mich um, vielleicht war
es eine Gedankenübertragung.
Ich hoffe, dass wir bald eine Nachricht von dir bekommen,

We haven’t heard from you since your letter No. 26, which arrived eight days ago. I hope you have received all of our letters. Please write down your shortest telegram address, just in case. I just found out that all mail for you will now be routed through Italy. In any case, I will now write via Uncle Lothar. We are all doing well, you don’t have to worry about it in any way. As soon as you get this letter let Alfred know via airmail. On August 31st I turned over the house to Seifert. Everything is going ok, and I’m finally done with Großr. It makes us happy that you are doing well in business. Alfred is not tying himself to anything specific as far as the export deals. Instead, he takes everything that would work over there, some even on his own capital. I have to help out Grete and Liese financially now, because they are broke.
I also wrote a copy of this letter via your Uncle L. Let me know which one arrives first.

We recently visited Clara G., where nothing has changed; Alfred is doing reasonably well, though he naturally suffers from his mood swings. Mrs. Lesser spends a lot of time with us in the evenings, and we always have very pleasant conversations. Aunt Else traveled to Laus eight days ago, and Aunt Hanna came back from vacation tanned and looking good. We are still having very nice warm days; hopefully the heat has become more bearable for you too. I'm sure you've settled into the business well by now and everything is going well.
I think about you so much, my dear son. Perhaps Mr. F. from Neustadt will visit you soon. The other day, I thought I heard you call me and turned around, but perhaps it was just a thought transmission. I hope we hear from you soon. I send you my warmest regards and kisses.
