Seit dem 24 Jan. haben wir keine Nachricht von Dir. Nr. 45 vom 4.1. aus Lincoln ist derletzte Brief gewesen. Wir warten jede Stunde auf Post, denn wir wissen ja nicht was Dunun für eine Stellung hast. Warum schreibst Du jetzt nicht an Lothar, der uns von Suseberichtet. Ich weiß genau, dass Du meinen 60sten nicht vergessen hast. Wir sind allegesund. Plockis haben Aussicht in Kürze herauszukommen. In Gedanken sind wir vielbei Dir und hoffen bald auf Nachricht.
Herzliche Grüße und Küsse, Dein VatelDu kannst Dir wohl denken, dass meine Gedanken stündlich bei Dir sind. Mein größterWunsch ist, dass Du gesund sein mögest, alles andere findet sich dann schon. Wir sindgesund und munter, es geht uns gut. Lubras haben auch keine Nachricht von Walter.Lubras und Schäfers wohnen zusammen in einer Villa und fühlen sich sehr wohl. Brauerssind gut angekommen, schrieb uns die Mutter. Wir haben es behaglich und schön warmund sind darüber zufrieden. Vatels 60ster verlief ganz ruhig, der Jubelgreis sieht immernoch aus wie 50. Martha und Heppa gratulierten und unser kleiner Kreis. Suse wurde 25Jahre, Dein Großvater wäre 100 Jahre alt geworden. So rücken wir alle nach. Bald ist es 1Jahr, dass Du weggingst, und ich habe große Sehnsucht nach Dir, mein guter Junge.

We haven’t heard from you since Jan. 24th. Your last letter No. 45, dated 1.4. from Lincoln, was your last letter. We’re waiting for mail all the time because we don’t knowwhat kind of a position you have now. Why don’t you write to Lothar? He’s been telling us about Suse. I know that you didn’t forget my sixtieth birthday. We are all healthy.We are often with you in thought and hope for a letter soon.

It is my biggest wish that you may be healthy, everything else will fall into place then. We are healthy and happy, we are doing well. The Lubras haven’t heard from Walter either. They and the Schäfers live together and share a villa. They feel very comfortable there. Brauer's mother wrote that the Brauers arrived in one piece. It is warm and cozy here and that makes us content. Vatel’s 60th birthday passed rather quietly. The birthday boy still looks like he is 50. Martha and Heppa and our small circle of friends and acquaintances came to congratulate him. Suse turned 25, and your grandfather would have been 100 years old now. We are all getting on up there. Soon, it will be 1 year that you left, and I have a great yearning for you, my dear son.
