Dein Briefe 62 mit dem Bildchen vom Haus Seidmanns kam diesmal sehr schnell an, bereits am 26.5. hier. Wir freuen uns immer sehr mit Deinen ausführlichen Berichten und leben dadurch mit Dir. Muttel und ich lernen jetzt bei einer Dame, die amerikanische Aussprache lehrt, sobald die Dame auswandert, werden wir zu dem empfohlenen Dr. Theodor gehen, bis jetzt hatten wir diese Adresse nicht von Dir. Ganz besonders erfreut mich, dass Du diesmal Deinen Geburtstag nicht so allein, wie im vorigen Jahr verlebt hast und dass Du auch beschenkt worden bist, leider aber nicht von uns. Alfred G. ist am 27. ds. dort gut angekommen, d.h. das Schiff war pünktlich. Dass Deine Sachen bei Familie Seidmann so gut gefallen haben, hat uns auch sehr erfreut, sag ihnen wir haben noch mehr so schöne Sachen. Hoffentlich gibt Barra Dir Deine Sachen jetzt endlich bald heraus und schickt Dir dieselben zu, wende Dich doch dieserhalb bitte einmal an Frl. Rosa Graetzer, bei Irene Steinberg in New York City, 318 Haven Ave. Apt. 43. Warum sollen denn Deine Sachen, die Du jetzt doch gut gebrauchen kannst dort unnötig liegen.

Sehr gefreut hat es uns mit Deinem lieben Brief, dass Du an dem Tage mit diesen lieben Menschen zusammen warst und dass sie so aufmerksam waren. Überhaupt, dass Du Dich wohl fühlst und glücklich bist. Auch freue ich mich, dass Du Dich in Deinem neuen Job so wohl fühlst und es nicht mehr so schwer hast wie erst. Deine Briefe sind immer so lieb, so dass wir wirklich alles mit Dir miterleben. Ich habe Goldy jetzt schon lieb, weil sie zu meinem Jungen so gut ist. Amerikanisch muss man noch viel dazulernen, Aussprache und Redewendungen sind doch ganz anders. Sehr hübsch ist Seidmanns Haus, ist es etwas aus der Stadt heraus? Hast Du Nachricht von Suse? Wir hören ca. alle 3 Wochen von ihr. Uns geht es gut, wir sind gesund. Neulich feierten wir Tante Hedwigs 60sten Geburtstag, es war sehr nett. Alle Lachmanns lassen herzlich grüßen.

Your letter No. 62 with the little picture of Seidmann’s house arrived rather quickly this time on 5.26. We always enjoy your detailed reports and live through them with you. Muttel and I are learning American pronunciation with a lady teacher. As soon as this lady leaves the country, we will go see the recommended Dr. Theodor. So far we didn’t have his address from you. It was especially nice to hear that this time you didn’t have to spend your birthday all alone as you did a year ago. Also, how nice that you received presents, but unfortunately none from us. Alfred G. arrived on the 27th, his ship came in on time. We’re glad that the Seidmann family liked all of your things. Tell them we have plenty more beautiful things. I hope that Barra will relinquish your possessions soon and send them to you. You should contact Miss Rosa Graetzer, c/o Irene Steinberg in New York City, 318 Haven Ave., Apt. 43. Why should your things, which you could really use right now, stay around there for no reason. Now it’s dear Muttel’s turn.

We enjoyed reading your lovely letter very much. How nice that you were able to spend that special day with such lovely people and that they were so attentive. Also, I’m glad you feel so content and happy and that you like your job. It’s nice that the job is not as hard on you as the other ones. Your letters are always written so lovely that we feel as if we were right there with you. I like Goldy already because she’s so good to my boy. With American English there’s still a lot to learn, especially because pronunciation and idiomatic expressions are so different. Seidmann’s house looks very nice. Is it located outside of the city? Have you heard from Suse? We receive letters approximately every 3 weeks. We are doing well and are healthy. We celebrated Aunt Hedwig’s 60th birthday recently. It was very nice. Lachmanns all say hello.
