Heute bekam ich Deinen lieben Geburtstagsbrief, wenn auch etwas verfrüht und danke Dir herzlichst für Deine innigen Worte. Wir hoffen, dass Suse bald einmal ein paar Zeilen beilegt. Sage ihr und Alfred, dass wir alle gesund sind, auch Onkel und Tante und dass es uns allen gut geht. Unser Gesprächs-Thema seid immer Ihr, meine lieben Kinder alle, nun sind es schon vier und habe ich Freude, wenn ich an Euch denke, dass ihr Euch behauptet. Auch mir ist sehr bange um Euch, meine lieben Kinder, es ist zu schön um wahr zu sein, an ein Wiedersehen zu denken und doch hoffe ich darauf. Lubra schrieb uns neulich, leider kann er uns nicht besuchen. Frau Michel geb. Hoffmann aus Bischofswerda starb in La Paz an Kindbett-Fieber. Die Eltern wollten gerade nach dort fahren, dass ist sehr tragisch. Schönsten Dank für Goldys Foto, sie sieht wie immer reizend aus. Wenn sich der Plan verwirklicht, mit Deinem Bekannten zusammen zu ziehen, wäre es für Dich sehr nett.

71 mit dem Bildchen von Goldy v. 8.7. ist schnell angekommen und habe ich mich mit dem Bildchen sehr gefreut. Aus dem Erlebnis mit Deiner Buchhalterin sehe ich zu meiner Freude, dass Deine früheren Minderwertigkeitsgefühle nun endgültig vollkommen geschwunden sind und auch hierüber bin ich sehr zufrieden. Lachmanns und Tante Hanna, die alle gesund sind, erwidern Deine Grüße herzlichst und bitten Dich, wie ich, Suse und Alfred recht herzlich zu grüßen. Ich habe heute meinen zweiten großen Kursus im Konfektmachen, auch Tropenkonfekt, beendet und bin nun ein fertiger Konfektionär. Die Sache macht mir viel Freude. Für heute habe ich nun weiterhin nichts zu berichten und grüße Dich und Familie Seidmann, sowie Goldy herzlich,
mit vielen Küssen für Dich, Dein Vatel.I received your lovely birthday letter today, although a little early, and thank you very much for your charming words. I hope that Suse will add a note with a few lines soon. Please tell her and Alfred that we are healthy, Uncle and Aunt too, and that we are all doing well. Our main topics of conversation are always you, our wonderful children. There’s four of you now, and I am so happy when I think of you all and how you are mastering your situations. I’m also worried about you, my dear children. It would be too good to be true to think of a reunion but I still hope for it. Lubra wrote to us recently that he cannot come visit us. Mrs. Michel, maiden name Hoffmann from Bischofswerda, died in La Paz of puerperal fever. Her parents were on their way over there when it happened, how tragic. Thank you very much for Goldy’s picture, she looks beautiful as always. It would be nice for you if the plan to move in with your friend materializes.

We have received your letter No. 71 with the photo of Goldy, dated 7.8., very fast. I enjoyed getting the picture very much. I can tell by the experience with your accountant that you have completely lost all earlier feelings of inadequacy and I’m very glad about that. Lachmanns and Aunt Hanna, all feeing fine, also say hello and ask you, as do I, to please extend our warm wishes to Suse and Alfred. I completed my second course in confectionary, also tropical confectionary, today and am a professional confectionary maker now. It’s a lot of fun for me. There is nothing else left to tell today and I send my best to the Seidmann family and Goldy.
