Seit dem 18. vorigen Monats, nach Erhalt Deines Briefes 71 sind wir beide bis heute ohne Nachricht und etwas beunruhigt. Ich erwarte mit Sehnsucht Deine Nachrichten, ob Du Deine Stellung noch hast, oder was Du sonst beginnst. Ebenso Bescheid über unsere Auswanderungsangelegenheiten. Wenn Du in dieser Beziehung jetzt etwas unternehmen könntest, wären wir sehr glücklich, wir gehen mit dem Gedanken um, eventuell in ein Zwischenland zu gehen, nach San-Domingo oder Shanghai, aber es muss in beiden Fällen von dort aus etwas unternommen werden. Ich bitte Dich die Angelegenheit ernstlich ins Auge zu fassen und Dich zu informieren, was Du tun kannst. Du weißt, dass ich Dich noch nie gedrängt habe, aber jetzt bitte ich Dich baldigst daran zu denken und bin von vornherein überzeugt, dass Du, was in Deinen Kräften steht tun wirst. Setze Dich doch auch mit Hans in Verbindung, der wie ich Dir schrieb uns gefällig sein will. Wir sin dalle, auch Lachmanns gesund, dies kannst Du auch Suse sagen. Lothar schrieb, er hätte zwei Briefe von Dir bekommen und hat Dir geantwortet. Also, in der Hoffnung bald

Ich kann Dir auch nur berichten, dass wir alle gesund sind und es uns geht. Goldy ist hoffentlich gut heimgekehrt und alles geht unverädert gut weiter bei Euch. Hoffentlich schreibt Susel uns bald einmal, die Hauptsache, es geht Euch allen gut. Sage Susel, heute ist Frau Pergamenter bei uns, eine sehr reizende Dame, die wir alle sehr gern haben und mit der wir gerne zusammen sind. Ich bin sehr gespannt zu hören, wie bei Susel und Alfred der Anfang ihrer Fabrikation vor sich geht und ob sie damit Erfolg haben, hoffentlich berichtet ihr bald einmal davon.

Onkel Adolf, Tante Emma.We haven’t received any letters from you since your message received on the 18th of last month. We are worried a little about that. I await with great yearning your next report to hear whether you still have your job or what else you’ve been doing. Also, I’d like to hear what you found out about our emigration situation. We would be grateful if you would do something in that matter. We have been thinking about maybe going to an intermediate country, to San-Domingo or Shanghai, but in both cases something has to be arranged from there. I am asking you to please seriously inquire what can be done. You know I’ve never put any kind of pressure on you, but now I’m asking you to please do something soon. I’m convinced that you will do anything you can in the matter. Try to get in touch with Hans who is willing to be of assistance, as he wrote us. We are all healthy, Lachmanns too. You can tell Suse this as well. Lothar writes that he received two letters from you and has answered them.

All I can report today is that we are healthy and doing well. I hope Goldy has returned home in one piece and everything is going well for you two. I hope Susel writes soon as well. The most important thing is that you are all doing well. Tell Suse that today Mrs. Pergamenter came by, a very charming lady whom we all like and with whom we enjoy spending time. I’m anxious to hear how Suse and Alfred’s fabrication enterprise is going and whether they are successful with it. I hope to hear about that soon.
