Recht gefreut hat mich Dein lieber Brief, dass Du gesund und munter bist und es Dir gut geht, mein lieber Junge, dasselbe hoffe ich von Susel und Alfred. Jetzt naht bald ihr 2ter Hochzeitstag, und in Gedanken sind wir immer bei Euch, meine lieben Kinder. Dass Du Dich in Deiner Stellung eingewöhnt hast, freut mich ganz besonders, ich wünsche Dir weiter Glück dazu. Ich nehme auch noch einen Kursus in Pralinen machen und der Lehrer sagt, Vatel hat so gut gelernt, dass er zu den bestem Hoffnungen berechtigt ist. Genascht wird ja immer und wenn es etwas Gutes ist, muss es sich auch durchsetzen. Ich bin sehr gespannt zu hören, ob Goldy wieder mit Dir zusammen kommt, oder habt ihr Euch etwa getrennt?

Wir erhielten Deinen Brief 74 vom 4.8. am 20.8. und hörten mit Bedauern, dass Goldy Dich wohl nicht besucht hat, hoffentlich seid ihr inzwischen zusammen gewesen. Wenn Du noch für die Marken, die auf dem abhanden gekommenen Brief waren, so schreibe mir dies, dann kaufe ich diese nochmals. Es ist mir unverständlich, dass Du von Suse nichts hörst. Lachmanns und Tante Hanna sind wohl und lassen herzlich grüßen. Du bist nun auch ein halber Spediteur, diese Arbeiten, verladen, usw. habe ich in meiner Jugend, vor 45 Jahren auch gemacht. Euer Fest von der Firma ist hoffentlich recht gemütlich verlaufen. Für heute hätte ich nichts weiter zu berichten.

Her 2nd wedding anniversary is coming up, and we are always with you, our dear children. I’m especially happy that you’re getting comfortable with your job and wish you lots of continued luck. I’m going to take a praliné-making course. The teacher has said that Vatel learned to do it so well, he should be hoping for the best. We always pass around samples, if it’s going to be called good it has to pass the taste-test first. I’m very interested to hear whether Goldy is back with you, or have you two split up?

We received your letter No.74, dated 8.4., on 8.20. and heard with displeasure that Goldy did not come visit you. I hope you’ve been together since. If you want a replacement for the stamps that were on the letter which got lost, then please tell me, so I can go buy them again. I don’t understand why you’re not hearing anything from Suse. The Lachmanns and Aunt Hanna are doing well and send their best. You are almost like a shipping agent now. Those types of jobs, like loading, etc., I did in my youth as well, 45 years ago. I hope your company party was a success. That’s all for today.
