Vielen Dank für Deinen lieben Brief, der mich recht erfreute, dass es Dir gut geht und Du wohl und munter bist. Also heizt Du jetzt den Studentinnen ein, es ist sehr schön, dass Du Dich auch für so handwerkliche Sachen interessierst und sie auch ausführst.
Uns geht es gut, wir sind gesund. Die letzte Schwester von Oma ist gestern beerdigt worden. Sie wurde 83 Jahr also versäumt sie nichts. Muttel Brauer schrieb uns heute, dass sie gute Nachrichten von ihren Kindern hat. Sie schreiben ihr nur das Beste und das ist ja auch gut so. Du hörst wohl auch manchmal von ihnen. Wie heißt der junge Mann aus Leipzig? Ich habe mit einer Dame, Frau Luchtenstein aus Würzen Unterricht, die sehr viele aus Leipzig kennt.

Du hast Dich wieder einmal in der Nummer geirrt, 82 vom 23.9. kam an, dem Datum nach richtig, aber 81 fehlt. Ich freue mich, dass Du Dir als Heizer noch etwas verdienst, wie hoch ist denn jetzt Dein gesamtes Einkommen? Dein Vater ist neugierig, aber man hat ja sonst nicht viel, und da kann man schon mal neugierig sein. Alfred telegraphierte an Lothar, dass sie gesund sind und Lothar antwortete, nun sind wir beruhigt. Trotzdem ist es mir unverständlich, dass er sich nicht bei Dir meldet. Willst Du dort nicht auch ein berühmter Fußballer werden? Ich lerne fleißig englisch, aber mit dem Behalten der Vokabeln geht es nicht so leicht, aber es wird schon werden.

We are doing well and are healthy. Grandma’s last sister was buried yesterday. She lived to be 83 years old, so she’s not missing out on anything. Muttel Brauer wrote today that she’s receiving good news from her children. They are only writing pleasant things and that’s how it should be. You sometimes hear from them, don’t you? What is the young man’s name from Leipzig? One of the ladies in my class, Mrs. Luchtenstein from Würzen, knows a lot of people from Leipzig.

You made a mistake with the numbers again, No. 82, dated 9.23., arrived, and is correct according to the date, but No. 81 is still missing. I’m glad to hear that you are making a little extra money in heating. How much is your total income now? You father is curious, I know, but I don’t have much otherwise, and so I can’t help being nosy. Alfred sent a telegram to Lothar to let him know that they are healthy and Lothar replied. Now we are feeling better. Still, I can’t understand why you are not getting a message from him. How about becoming a famous soccer player over there? I’m still working diligently on learning English, but it’s not so easy to remember the vocabulary. It will get better though.
