Wir sind auch heute noch seit Deinem Brief vom 22.2. ohne weitere Nachricht, hören aber von Bekannten, dass diese auch keine Post bekommen. Soeben höre ich vom Hilfsverein, dass mein Kabel an Dich, welches ich am 3.3. aufgab, erst am 18.3. abgegangen ist. Inzwischen wird es ja in Deinem Besitz sein, und ich erwarte Deine Antwort in den nächsten Tagen. Sobald ich alle Papiere habe, gehe ich zum Konsulat. Sonst sind wir alle gesund und hoffe ich von Dir das gleiche.

Ich freue mich schon für Dich, wenn das heizen vorbei ist, kannst Du doch etwas länger schlafen. Der 1. April bescherte uns heute früh einen leichten Schneefall, aber auch das geht vorüber. Horst Brauers Geburtstag, der 1.4., sie schrieben uns neulich sehr lieb, wie immer und wundern sich von Dir nichts zu hören. Lubras schrieben uns einen Brief, ihr ganzes Glück sind Walters Briefe. Er macht sich gerne Sorgen um seine Schwester und Schwager. Sie haben leider aber auch ausgesuchtes Pech. Seid ihr noch im Briefwechsel?

We are still without news from you since your letter from 2.22., but we hear from acquaintances that they are not getting mail either. I just heard from the support organization that my cable to you, sent 3.3., didn’t get wired until 3.18. You probably have it by now and I’m awaiting your answer in the next few days. As soon as I get all of the papers I will go to the consulate. Otherwise we are all healthy and I hope the same from you.

I’ll be happy for you when the heating is over so that you can sleep a little longer. The 1st of April brought with it snow but that shall pass too. Horst Brauer celebrated his birthday on 4.1., and they wrote a lovely letter to us, as always, but also wonder why they haven’t heard from you lately. Lubras wrote to us. They live for Walter’s letters. He is worried about his sister and brother-in-law. Do you still write to each other?
