8.7.41 Lieber Heinz,

Wir sind seit 3 Wochen ohne Nachricht von Dir, letzter Brief vom 30.5. kam am 18.6 an hier. Wir können uns dies nicht erklären, da fast alle Bekannte inzwischen Post erhalten haben. Hoffentlich ist die Mandeloperation gut verlaufen und du bist gesund. Sowie Brief von Dir kommt, schreibe ich ausführlich, da ich viel Fragen habe, bezüglich unserer Auswanderung.

We haven’t received any news from you for 3 weeks. Your last letter dated 05.30 arrived 06.18. We cannot imagine why, especially because all acquaintances have received mail by now. We hope that your tonsil operation went well, and that you are well. As soon as we get a letter from you, I will write in more detail because I have many questions for you regarding our emigration.
